i just found something out... now days i usually start car cold with heat to the max... it idles fine for about 3-4 min then starts fast idling... i get in the car and turn off all the heat then the fast idle stops.. i assuming that if i dont turn the heat on after the car is warm, the fast idle will stop.... what could be causing?

Just changed my O2 sensor yesterday, no more idle fluctuation! So I don't know, I'll probably just wait to clean my IACV and FITV when I pull the engine out of the car this summer. Looks like it would be a TON easier to get to that stuff with the engine on a stand.

dang, I still have a little idle fluctuation!

Oh well, I'll clean all those parts when I pull the engine out, hopefully around late summer after I get married.

just block the little hole on the FITValve that goes to the manifold, did that and my car idles, warms up normal and runs with no problems.the valve seems very usless to me, but this is temp cuz im puttin a diff mani with out it.re run all lines and eliminating most the vaccum lines that go to the cannister, forget emissions.

What happens to your idle if you screw the plastic piece inside the fitv all the way down?

i heard that you will have to help the car warm up when on a cold start but as soon as its at temp it should be fine??? just what i heard but ima try it caz i have no more options.

this thing WORKS!!! i took out my whole throttle body earlier and just took the FITV and whatnot and cleaned everything up with brake cleaner. put it back in and my car FINALLY idles like a champ!! cold start up my idle would be up to 3000-3200 then slowly work its way down to 1600-1700 in which it'll stay there. after the clean up, now it idles at 800-1k! back to its original idle! great write up! this was a lot of help.

My problem is i have a surging idle at cold start while the A/C is On. The problem would dissapear once i turn the A/C Off or the engine gets to normal operating temp.

Hi, Recently my CRV has started dying when cold. The idle is fine when it's warm but when its cold it just dies as soon as I take my foot off the gas pedal or put it into drive. This seems to be the reverse of the problems you describe. Do you hink this will also be caused by the FITV?
Thanks!
