My 95 Civic CX hatch build
Sure, I'll mention it to him. If you can you pay time and materials and not complain about the time it takes to do quality work.
By the pictures it looks like the wait would be worth it. If he decides to pm me with and estimated time frame and price. Time isnt that big of a deal, i could drive around my tl till it gets done.
These were sent to me last night. I owe my friend and the guy who did the welding a huge favor.

Hopefully this is the end of the problem.

Also, F-U-C-K the 3.0L OHV Ford Vulcan engine. **** it SO HARD. What a colossal heap of cobbled together terrible ideas coupled with awful component placement and crappy materials.
good to see its getting closer to being back in action
you might want to check the seal on the block plug after all the heat from the welding
OH OH paint the new peice red for extra 5kw..........

It's a Ford motor, what do you expect? I used to drive a cab, and paid my lease by working on all of our cars. Ford 4.6L modulars are just as bad.
Busy last couple of months and there was the possibility of work sending me to South Korea for the winter. That chance is gone now. Anyone interested in seeing me make progress or should I continue to do nothing? It's hard to get the motivation to get anything done in this weather without a kick in the ***.
In the meantime, my poor DD is covered in salt and starting to show rust in the roof gutters and along the bottoms of both doors... Bummer.

I've got some quick questions:
I haven't started my engine since tearing it down. That being said, after torquing my head to the block, I realized that I did not re-install the dowel pins between the block in the head. Amateur move... It's sat all winter like this.
1. Should I disassemble and install the pins? (I have new ones)
2. Should I replace the ARP head studs?
3. Should I replace the head gasket?
Thanks H-T.

I thought the dowel pins were there to insure perfect alignment of the mating surfaces? That being said I would pull the head and install. I wouldn't replace the studs. Your call on the HG.
I'll probably replace the Head Gasket. It's been crushed and won't crush the same way the second time. Possibly leaving a gap.
Solid advice, Grumble. Glad you're back.
I've been busy with work and other stuff so haven't gotten much done.
Pulled the head, again, and installed the dowels. I was glad I did. I must have been tired when I last put the head on. I think the head gasket was on the wrong way and I was missing the block oil port... Unacceptable. I've got a new head gasket. I need to order the oil port and stop in at a toyota dealership to get gaskets for my RC injectors (don't tell xtrac1).
Finish this bish for Grim.

Nearly 10 months later and I've only gotten as far as getting the head on, cams in, the blower mounted, and the IAB sensor wires on the engine harness extended... And, all that was on Sunday.
I can't find one of the three bolts for the engine mount bracket between the water pump and the timing belt tensioner. Pisses me off. I have so many bolts in labeled zip-lock bags and I'm still loosing stuff. I don't understand how people manage when they just throw everything into a bucket and sort it out later.
I'd post pictures but the camera on my phone went full potato.
