All I know is don't get a 60 trim .60/.63 off a Thunderbird I don't hit full boost in 2nd till >4.5k rpms

I should have gone with the T25 like I originally wanted to

That choice comes down to what you want to do in the future more than what you want to do right now.

Pick an ultimate goal, and start to set your car up for that. You can make just about any HP level lower than that without any issues.

The 42/48 will get you your power but you're gonna be pushing ~15psi+ out of it.

Haha nah I doubt it man. The T25 spools around 2.8K and is dead by 5.5. Just way small for our engines. Smallest I'd ever go on a D would be a T3 Super 60 .63AR housing.

Don't bother answering this person. He's already asked this question and got a reply by the authority himself. I can only assume he keeps asking it is because he just want's to talk to someone.

Isn't my 60 trim .60/.63AR really similar to that turbo? I thought it was kinda big for a d-series?

No, that's not the same. That's a T3/T4 hybrid. A super 60 (60/63) is a straight T3 (compressor and everything). It's a ~250whp turbo.

Just joined you guys. 1997 DX Hatch with a swapped Y8..everything, had the turbo on for a few months but finally had a decent "street" tune. Will be dynoed as soon as I can scrape up some funds lol.

Just an ebay turbo kit on 10lbs.-ish of boost. Part of the reason I stuck with the single slam was so I wouldn't spend so much money. I"m not looking for it to be fast, just a tad faster than it's sluggish former self (Y7 block).

Here's the setup and pictures:

1997 Civic DX Hatch

D16Y8/Trans Swap
P28 ECU Tuned on Crome
Ebay T3/T4 turbo
Ebay Turbo header
Ebay Intercooler & Piping
Ebay BOV and Wastegate
DSM 450 Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
NGK cold plugs -6
Autozone Boost & Oil Pressure gauge
AEM Wideband
Custom Downpipe

Pretty much everything was done to save money since I'm broke lol. So it's ghetto looking-I'm not too worried about how it looks though.

Before this, all I ever did was change oils and rotate tires on cars, so I've never delved deeper than that and this little project was a great learning experience. 95% of everything was done myself with guidance by family and friends. This includes the motor swap, turbo install, resistor box wiring, CV replaced etc... So thanks to H-T for providing a lot of good info and now I know more than I ever did.

I want my washer fluid lol. So I'm looking for a way to keep it and run the pipes. Bumper held together by zip ties.. is that a mod lol.

I thought I was smart and could avoid putting holes in the pillar. Now I need to clean it up and screw it in.

That UFO looking wastegate put a dent on my hood, and my "manual" boost controller bolt put a dent right next to it haha.

Still a lot of work to be done.

Mine is not T3/T4, its straight T3 as well. Here's a link to someone who made 246whp / 186ftlbs at 10 psi on a z6
https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/dynod-single-cam-2129088/

I'm at 8 psi and it's nowhere near that lol my street tune is pretty bad though, the guy just tuned the AFR's and pulled 1.2* timing per psi. And re-burnt like 10 chips because "he left his emulator at home"

Here's a compressor map I found for it:

That's what I'm thinking happened. That or my oil pump failed me and didn't give enough. After the fourth or fifth run I heard tapping noises so I left right away. On my way back home I tried to keep it slow but I entered the highway from an on-ramp so I had to speed up a little and that's when it happened.

Luckily the highway was a bit empty because it completely seized up and my breaks didn't want to work so I coasted into an off-ramp and into a parking lot.

My cheap project is turning out to cost more money Now I need to find a D16 block

Sounds more like oiling issues than a lean condition, which should not have happened if you were tuned properly. You have that AEM on the pillar so you should have had some idea if you were going into a lean condition. That's what it's supposed to be for right? The first thing I did was shim and port a new oil pump when I went boost.

It didn't go into a lean condition when I tested it out on the street. Had good A/F ratio but, on the track who knows because I was so concentrated on the track and shifting that I didn't pay attention to the wideband. And the one thing I didn't have money at the time was a new oil pump. Lesson learned.

It's been a while since I've posted in here. Finally got the 3 year long issue figured out and this is what happened today!
