As we all know, cast iron does rust. My question is, since my manifold that is stilling in my garage will undoubtly rust before it is install, what is the best way to get the rust out from inside the manifold? i don't want rust to be blown into my turbo when it is first started up. Thanks.

 

You could coat it with some WD-40.

 

oil and bag it

i was thinking that, but that **** smells when it heats up and it doesn't seem that it would be good for the turbo. even tho it probably burns off very quickly.

 

same deal. will smell like hell on start up, although oil would probably be better than wd40. thanks.

 

if you oil it, then shoot it with degreaser or brake cleaner before you install it, then both problems are solved.
