Use your clutch pedal. It's got a start switch on it already just tap into it. That way when you have your clutch pressed in it will hold at the disired RPM.

Saso,

Can you give us some more details on how you wired it up to your windshield washer switch? That sounds like a really good idea. Do you have the seperate 2-step that MSD sells or are you using the one that comes with the ignition amps?

I did a similiar technique.. i wired the 2 step to the horn button. the right button activates the horn still, and the left horn button keeps the rpms steady.. its not that hard to do, if yer electronically inclined...if any questions, email me, and if u decide to try it, DO NOT hit yer horn, other then when launching.. i barely use the horn anyway, or the car for that matter ...

clutch start safety switch is a grounding style switch, use it.

Thinking about installing a 2 step today......bracket racing tomorrow.

2 step is $56 from Jegs. It plugs into a 6AL or SCI with revlimiter. You plug the 2 step into where the old revlimiter chip was, transfer that chip to the 2 step. then add whatever rpm chip you want the launch rpms at.

Also..........

Instead of bying more chips, you could buy a RPM module selector for $46, I'd choose the 6000-8200 unit, 200 rpm steps.

OR.........

You can add the "Launch Control Module Selector" $136, which is basically a 3 step and is adjustable in 100 rpm increments for the launch rpms. It has a "third step" that you would activate with a push button switch to limit burnout rpms.

Time for some bracket racing. Tomorrow is $25 to enter 13.99+ quick class, only had 7 cars last time. Win first round/quarters and win $75, win semis and get $150, win it all in the final and get $300.

The MSD digital 6 has a built in 2 step, thats what im using. Mine is also hooked up to my clutch pedal. The clutch pedal throws out a negative signal, so you'll have to add a relay on the wire from the ignition box.

i used to have mine hooked up to the clutch and it worked great until i started having axle problems.i learned that if you pre-load the clutch(thanks to turboR),the axles will hold up.only problem was then the clutch switch no longer worked.now i have it and a line-lock on a button and it works great.

from the posts, holding e brake/hand brake to keep car from rolling, then letting the clutch just barely catch/slip, taking out the slack in the driveline.

letting out the clutch to right before it engages.there is a small space between the floor and when the clutch actually engages.if you let it go from the floor it is a huge shock to the drive train.let it out to right before it engages and let the clutch follow your foot out and it will be much smoother.
