Question: Oem HU + aftermarket AMP + speakers
Car: 05 RSX Type S
Scenario: I currently have an aftermarket deck and aftermarket Amp(4channel) + E.D. speakers installed with the BOSE system already bypassed.
Question: I want to return to the stock HU but keep the aftermarket amp + speakers. What are my options?
1) Can I leave the BOSE amp bypassed and add an LOC to the OEM HU? If so which wires do I tap to continue running my setup?
2) Do I need to unbypass the BOSE amp to run the LOC to the OEM HU?
3) Does it matter if I use the type s bose 6 cd changer oem hu or the base single cd hu?

Yeah, you can use any of the products that fcm and cobb2819 mentioned, but it would be best to un-bypass the bose amp, and grab the highlevel output from the back side of the bose amp, then run that into whatever processor you choose into the high-level input side.
As far as whatever OEM unit you use, just make sure it remains bose, (you can use a non-bose source, and not worry about the bose amp at-all, however...) but whatever radio you get, makes sure you get the factory radio security code with it!

If you don't feel like spending the money on one of those processors, you can still use your LOC... Just hook the bose amp back up, and install the LOC on the output side of the bose amp.

Re: Question: Oem HU + aftermarket AMP + speakers
This is what confuses me... The OP claims to have bypassed the bose amp, but to be honest, I thought the bose amp only controlled the factory sub that sits ontop of the spare tire well... Its been forever since I've done one of these, and maybe there is different types of bose systems in these cars, but the last one I did with bose, I thought I just wired up the harness and turned on the amp turn-on wire, and everything worked like a champ. I remember doing an amp and subs in one of these, along with a deck and four, and there aren't amps on the speakers, and the bose amp in the trunk only has 4 high level output wires, all going to dvc sub...???

Re: Question: Oem HU + aftermarket AMP + speakers
well...you can always try plugging in the factory head unit, and AT the amp wiring under the seat measure voltage on a speaker. if it rises and falls with the volume on the HU, then you could probably either convert that to RCAs and feed your amp, or use a couple LOCs and use those to feed your amp. it just depends if the HU has a static or dynamic audio out.
