Not every build can be all things all at once, but this turbo Accord build is seriously close.

Honda had a very magical combination with their Accord for a number of years. The J30 engine in the CM8 Accord coupe was a hit. And matching it with a 6-speed manual make the Accord 6-6 an unintended driver’s delight. Make it a turbo Accord, and you have one seriously cool car.

Now 20 years on, this 2004 Accord EX-L V6 is totally transformed from a cool car, to an amazing sleeper. But it also still a great street car. And maybe even a track car. It’s everything.

This build video is a culmination of YouTuber Gingium’s overall build progress from his CM8. If you wanted to dive into each individual modification, there’s dozens of vidseos to showcase each step. What we like most of all is that Gingium didn’t throw money at this build. It is all done on a budget, so it’s something that a good number of us could realistically achieve.

If we take a peek at visuals first, the standard car isn’t all that bad. However, a thorough cleaning really brings out the aggressive lines from this generation of Accord. Cleaning the headlights up and adding some vinyl stickers puts another unique touch. But the big change is the mesh grey rims on the lowered stance.

Hunkered down on coilovers, the stance of this car is nailed down perfect. And the inside is now more appealing, too. A fully re-finished Alcantara headliner matches the upgraded bucket seats nicely. As does the additional trim touches around the shifter. It’s the subtle things that end up making the biggest differences.

And the biggest difference is under the hood. 100 horsepower different. Putting down 321 horsepower to the front wheels makes this turbo Accord seriously quick. All new exhaust components were fitted to work with the new turbo, and on the dyno it sounds great. An intercooler was added to keep intake temps down, and ends up adding to the subtle but aggressive look of the car. While at the same time, the turbo kit, pieces to install, and time to get it done are all very reasonable.
