HRC Steps Up: Racing The Dream
Honda Racing Corporation takes over for overall strategy and race engineering for IMSA’s GTP Class: #93 Acura ARX-06.
Big shoes are left to be filled and stood on the strong shoulders of Honda’s racing heritage by HRC US. They have officially took on the challenge of joining forces with Acura Meyer Shank Racing. Historically, Honda only was a power train and chassis supplier. Now they are part of the racing.
Honda’s rich history in racing has a new chapter being written in thanks to HRC US. As they take on being the strategists and race engineering team for car #93, new challenges will be faced. Before, with being only a supplier and issues arise in racing the question of who’s fault it was would come up. Now the challenge is being the only source of their own problems.
Qualifying for their first race led to a second place overall result. A strong start to a team that had very little time to prepare for an entirely new season, direction, and individuals with roles and responsibilities they are not used to. With this result, the team was left with very specific instructions to try and learn as much as they can with each time the car goes out.
