Thanks guys! Should have some better photos of the car very soon!
Thanks dude! I'm very exited to see the performance difference from last season. Here's a video from NJMP Lightning from last year

Sorry to hear about the fiasco with the wheels and also glad to hear Fortune Auto took care of the problem with the struts so quickly. Car looks amazing!

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
So Im happy to report back the FA struts are working wonderfully now that the dimensions are revised. Im running them in the upper adjustment range to control spring oscillation so Ive developed new force/velocity plots for when they get rebuilt in the future.
Overall im extremely happy with the product especially at the price point theyre selling at. Youre getting high end AST level dampers for half the price, and MUCH faster turnaround (I was left waiting up to 6 months for a rebuild on my old AST's)
FA currently shows the EP3/DC5 application as "under revision" as they review the work weve been doing with my car. Im hoping they change the spec to the revised shaft and body lengths
On another note, we held our 8th annual SHG BBQ and swap meet last week and it was a great success. We had a great turnout and the quality of cars was just exceptional. As always I got to reconnect with old friends and meet a ton of new people

Here is a recap from the weekend! Photos courtesy of our humble photog SHG_Claudio
Caravan from Mass to Beans' house saturday morning

Mid trip stop to meet up with Dre (gtimportfanatic)

And then here we all are at Beans' house for the saturday night festivities and birthday celebrations for myself, Joe (ep3moschini) and Riley (R7t18g)
.

Then the booze started taking effect

The man behind the lens SHG_Claudio!

Regrouping the next morning, and inevitably getting a later start than planned lol
Its Kitty poops!
.
.
Hit some rain on the way to the BBQ, luckily none of us drive show cars
.
.
The SHG tent all set up and ready to relax!
.
.
At the end of the day we had a nice little caravan back up to Mass and naturally had to make a stop for some iced drank
.

There will be full coverage on the SHG_BLOG so stay tuned!

Damn, that looked like fun.
Glad to hear about the FAs but now I'm worried about buying the Gen 5s I mentioned to you.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Its been quite a while since my last update, so Im happy to finally be able to share August's activities
I was lucky enough to be able to tag along with my girlfriend Theresa to a Drivers Club member event at Thompson Motorsports Park. Along with her position as Director of Marketing for the tracks, comes a membership to the club as well .... Quite the perk!
The track was fun and was easy to develop a decent flow after I learned the line a bit. The car took a while to setup, and I spent about half of my sessions just learning the track to provide a decently consistent basis to tune the car from.
I ended up doing 7 of 8 sessions, and Theresa went for 6 of hers. Plenty of track time, and again were blessed with clear open track!
I was Happy with how solid the car feels. Very confidence inspiring and has a feeling of craftsmanship. As far as the performance was concerned, I arrived at the track with .03 toe in on both rear wheels, and the rear sway bar on soft - The same settings including ride height, camber f/r, caster, and toe f/r were brought directly off of the New Jersey Lightning setup that had worked so well. Another significant aspect is that I had switched to the smallest size SHG prototype rear RCA. In hindsight I should have left the large ones in to reduce variables but oh well. It may have been part of the reason the car was pushy compared to lightning. I ended up getting it decently dialed in with .25" toe out each rear wheel and the bar on stiff.
Im looking forward to going back with some different approaches on setup, and get the car really dialed in. Until then I will be doing an event at Lightning next Monday the 8th where I can truly test the difference of the completely new footwork apples to apples
Here are some photos that SHG_Claudio was kind enough to take for me when he came to spend the day at Thompson with us and cover the member's event, which you will be able to find a full feature on at The SHG Blog very soon!
.
.
To set the car up for Jersey again I put the car back on the alignment rack> I also had a small but expected gripe with the FA struts. The left front lower collar loosened up twice at the beginning of the day but after hammering on it as hard as I could with a flat head I didnt have another issue.
I realized that with the longer struts, I now have room for a second locking collar at the bottom as well Very excited about this one because its the only way to truly prevent you struts from loosening on the track.
I also did a bunch of looking around after thinking of a possible safegaurd against strut bolt slippage and sourced some of these serrated conical washers. My theory is that the vertical ridges facing against the direction of slippage will dig into the mating surfaces and add some bite between the parts.
.
.
I also finally got to install my whiteline full turnbuckle adjustable sealed cup end links...
.
.
Here she is all ready to go for the event next week

Mint you can add that second collar. Maybe one day you will be able to focus on something other than front struts
Car is looking prime on those RG's

Damn dude I didn't know about all that BS you went through with the wheels, and suspension. At least FA is great with their customer service, hopefully next year will be headache free! Its a shame this Summer has flown by super fast, I need to get out to Mass. before Winter so we can all get some pics together. I'm going to have plenty of time off after this week.

I try man! Someones gotta keep these forums alive
I had looked at those as a possibility as well. They looked really beefy but I chose these because the Nordlock were a bit pricey. If I do have slippage issues I will try them next though Luckily I havent had bolt slip issues, but I wanted to prevent the possibility and way I could

Hey guys! Got a much needed update for you!
Theresa and I have been keeping busy with the EP3 - We've attended events at both NJMP and Thompson since my last post. Had a great time as usual and still running problem free
Here are a few photos from NJMP a took in the paddock as well as some that I grabbed off the track photographers page

Im working on uploading video of those last two events and Ill share as soon as its on Youtube

Great to see you getting out to more and more events!!
How do you like those z2? A friend has them on his s2k and has been very disappointed. Good wear, but are significantly slower (1 sec over a 60 sec lap) than rs3 and rsr, despite being wider.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Ive run faster than I did last year but Ive also changed pretty much everything about the footwork on the car so it's apples to oranges.
