3,000 LB SI Bus, 225's and one hell bent driver equals-->broke chit.
Real quick:
Summit Point Raceway yesterday.
Mix one heavy, turd slow, Civic EP,
add two parts cheap, lightweight cast wheels,
whip in "way too wide" 225 rubber,
boil for 45 minutes, a hell bent Honda driver trying to pass a Grand AM Spec LS Integra for numerous laps
you get.......
and NO
I didn't go off track
I didn't hit anything
I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, other than drive the **** out her.
They were not cracked at the start of the session. I began to hear a "creaking" type noise on the straights...so i pulled in the pits and found both front wheels had each cracked a spoke..........the noise was rather faint for a few laps then got louder AND was independently emitting from both sides. So one broke first then the other.
This is the 8th track weekend on this setup, so go figure............................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .....
The added brake heat is the ONLY thing I can point the finger @???

Also does anyone have a picture of the broken Spoon wheel off of Grandpa's ITR?

Here is the real reason Yack was running so hard:
Didn't want to get rolled by tha 5 point 0
That was pretty freaky seeing the wheels up close, good thing they had 7 other healthy spokes

They have nothing to worry about.
Most people just drive their cars to and from the car shows.
Them worrying about their wheels failing under similar use is like me worrying about having to dig my car out from under the snow after work.

You know what he's talking about!
Some people on here jock Rotas and Konigs because they can pass these knock-offs for Sp00n and other higher end rims and they are relatively inexpensive. But obviously we see that you get what you pay for.

It's amazing how many Rota haters there are out there. How many of you have acutally had a set fail on you? Not talking about your friend knows a guy who had them fail...that's BS.

i agree with this. Explain to me what machining standard makes spoon rims better then rotas. Does this go for K1 racings as well? I can see if someone said well the universal lug pattern area broke...then thats different. its the spoke in question which is no different then any other rim. Its very possible its either this rim specific or this style rims specific by this manufacturer.
I see nothing wrong with Rota. i've owned 3 plus sets already with no problems and i beat the **** out of them
if thats the case....what am i gonna do with this old itr rim?
