Default 90-93 Teg Half-Shaft on OBD0 B16A1 and Hydro tranny My observation just to clear some things up.

This topic has been debated and debated over and over again, the end result is always the same, 50% of the answers are BS, 25% dont know and the other 25% wont tell you.

I have been told by several friends and people that you cannot use a 90-93 integra 5 spd half shaft on a B16 with 98 GSR Hydro tranny, well, I was skeptical and wanted to challange what everyone told me, I'm like that, I dont take anyones word for it untill I myself know the answer.

So I went to my buddies where I was building up my block, I grabbed the block and brought it to my house down to my room where the tranny is, I bolted the tranny up to the block and crossed my fingers, I pushed the 90-93 integra Half shaft in...Damn, seal is way too small and the splines only go in about 1/4 inch...So I take it out, measure the distance if the splines on the shaft, then the Diff, what do you know, they are both 1", so then I measure the distance from the inside diff to the outside of the tranny case its just over 3", then I measure the distance from the beginning of the shaft to where the dust cover is, its exactly just over 3".

So I take out the seal, and put the half shaft in, it goes in perfectly and bolts up to the B16 perfectly. So I go to the shed and pull the seal out of the old LS cable tranny, compare the diamiters to the GSR tranny, the outside diamiter is EXACTLY the same, so I put the LS seal in to the GSR tranny, slide the half shaft in, bolt everything in place, and it FITS!

So if anyone has a similar setup and is having a hard time finding the half shaft for their tranny, you dont have to worry, just get the K7 half shaft from a 90-93 OBD1 integra B18A1, and get a new LS tranny seal on the one side and put it in to your GSR/TypeR tranny and you can use this with the First gen B16A, and maybe second gen too, I doubt Honda changed the mounting holes for the half shaft between the 2 years, but then again I'm not sure.

Here you can see the engine, GSR tranny and Half shaft bolted up.
