4x100 to 4x114 adapters
so i was thinking about getting some of these but i was wondering if these would put a lot of stress on my suspension and how safe are these.
anyone know where i can get some legit ones and which size should i get (25mm etc)?

Re: 4x100 to 4x114 adapters
if used properly and secured correctly w all the right lug nuts they are totally fine and safe.
pandagarage.com usually has the 15mm ones but i hear they are out of stock. joji at wheelchoice.com sometimes stocks the 10 mm ones but they are sorta pricey and sometimes they require you to shave your existing studs for them to clear.
if you use the 25mm ebay ones then you most likely have to roll your fenders and/or run negative camber to clear your fenders.. also, if you use those ebay billet ones then make sure the lug nuts they provide seat correctly and flush into the adapters lug holes to avoid any vibration while driving at high speeds.

I would not buy ebay ones. A friend of mine's brother in law did that on his truck because he was too stupid to buy the right lug pattern wheels in the first place. They were put on very carefully. They were checked frequently. Some of the studs were even replaced at one point because they looked damaged... Yet, they still sheared off while he was on the highway causing a rim to be destroyed, some ground down suspension pieces, and an accident.
I would trust good quality ones but I would keep an eye on them regardless.

ahh that sucks. hopefully nobody got hurt.. but not all 'ebay' ones are of bad quality. i was mainly referring to the people who make theres in house.. for example:
http://www.mcmotorsports.com/services.cfm those guys sell on ebay
http://www.motorsport-tech.com/wheel_adapters.html
also paul russel at russel machine makes his own wheels adapters and spacers. all of these places stand behind their product.
Russell Machine Co.
1702 W 180th St
Gardena, CA 90248
(310) 532-0579
i, personally, have used and daily driven on spacers/adpters for a long time and never had problems. call me one of the lucky ones but then if they are soo dangerous then how come 1000's of people still sell/buy them.

No one was hurt thankfully.
I didn't mean to infer all adapters sold on ebay were unsafe I was referring to ebay "brand" adapters. As in something found on ebay with no real brand name whatsoever that is significantly less expensive than any "real" product of that type.
I agree to the extent that I believe quality spacers/adapters exist and are perfectly safe. I just wouldn't buy the absolute cheapest spacer/adapter I could find, assume they were fine, then ignore them completely. (Unless it was a 5mm or smaller spacer)
