ToxicFab's Fabrication pics!

Re: ToxicFab's Fabrication pics!
Pretty sure I've posted pics of my bevels, I see you saying your knife edge beveling and welding at 35smps for sch10? Not sure how your pulling that off or if your making a few passes.
But I do run a very specific bevel, and run about 65-75amps, run a single pass, no pulse and come out with great penetration.
Same goes for sch40
Hope this helps

Re: ToxicFab's Fabrication pics!
The more pics I see of titanium the more it looks like it flows like crap. How much of a pain is it to weld?
Amazing as always, I have no idea how you get the consistency down in the runners like that, amazing.

it looks like art my friend!
i've always wondered why you see the starts/stops of the gas coverage on the inside. not enough flow/coverage from the purge?

Pretty much, I'll post more pics later, that's the only spot with color. You can see towards the top back there is zero color, turned the gas up about 5cfm and all color went away.

It came in at 4lbs on the money, I did use a half inch flange and solid half inch hangers. So that did add do it a bit. Plus its .065 wall tube.

Looks good. I found that it was harder to tell when it was biting through to the inside like you did. Less consistency then stainless for sure. Pie cuts are so annoying, but so cool at the same time. .065" should last on a DP. It's not real happy with life above 800, but a little thicker like that helps.
Cool stuff to play with for sure.

Re: ToxicFab's Fabrication pics!
It's because Titanium is so desperate to bond with oxygen in it's molten state. Anything less than a near-perfect 99.5% argon/inert environment will show colour. Stainless you can get away with alot worse.
