Four. If I see an orange glow from under the car I stop and put it out. It's too much work to crawl under there and scrape.

Why would you think you could weld over that stuff? I still burnt a little but the floor is so thin you gotta go hot and fast in small sections. I'm about to do a 89 crx. Full race around 12 point. I'll post some good pic maybe do a full write up.

read again,
we are talking about the coating underneath the car, not the sound deadening stuff inside.

In for the pics of the finished product.
I am looking to get an S&W 8 point for my EF soon. Probably within the next year or so.

The going is slow, wouldn't be able to make a living at this. Try to work on it about a 1/2-1 hour in the evenings. The main hoop and crossbar are trimmed and tacked in. The rear plates are formed to the floor and welded. Working on the rear braces now. I dont know any of the tricks so I cut them long and trim em down a little at a time, dont want to end up too short. The pics are'nt turning out very good.

Thats not a SW kit.

Got a 10point cage kit from Jegs.
Got the plates formed to floor and tacked in place for the main hoop.
Any tips on marking the ends of the main hoop to trim them to fit flush?</TD></TR></TABLE>

how much of a hassle was the fitment/notching of the dash? looks like it turned out good to me.

It wasn't hard, hacksaw and a die grinder. The right side looks great (i think) but i got in a hurry on the left side and took off a little more than needed. Still it looks ok.
