anyone got this welder? im looking at getting a new mig but i dont want a big one because its for my garage. i like the millermatic 211 autoset with mvp. the plug thing sounds cool. but whats up with the auto set? ive never used that before.

well it showed up today! wont have much time to play with it this weekend or any thing but i did have to throw a muffler on almost as soon as i got it set up. So far im a huge fan, really easy to use, etc etc. Almost seems like a point and shoot set up. Well heres a quick snap i took with my iphone

I have this little welder and I think it rocks! waaay better than the old snap on mig I had that it replaced and a 3rd of the size...it doesn't have the power that the snap on unit had, but I really don't need it...I've used it primarily for exhaust work, as I haven't wired it up for 230v yet, just been using it on 110v, but even on 110v it works really well, I've only run into one thing that it really couldn't handle on 110v and just hit it with the tig ( I was building the most unsafe engine cradle ever to pull the transmission on a volvo, cut up one of my old engine hoists for the main bar and welded some "legs" onto it...blew the breaker in the shop trying to weld it on 110v like 6 times getting it "tacked" enough to tig it lol)
My only gripe is it doesn't hold a very big spool of wire, but I don't use it that much anyway so I guess it doesn't matter that much
the auto set feature is pretty cool and works well...actually alot better than I had expected it to, and I do find myself setting it and not having to mess with it while welding like I did with my old snap on machine, but the old snap on maching was about a billion years old so its probably not the best comparison
comparing it to some of my buddies HF welders or other cheaper units like it...sadly its about the same...I mean they all lay down a pretty good bead if you know what your doing with the machine, and for small stuff like exhausts, brackets, etc. there probably isn't much of a difference. I like to think since its a miller it'll last longer and give me less headaches, but that could just be the price difference talking, but I got a good deal on it because I bought when I bought my new tig so it was worth it to get the brand name unit I guess
overall I would say its a good machine and I would purchase it again if I had the choice to make all over again
