How are people Doing their Intercooler piping on a D16Y8
I have everything figured out except the part by the throttle body where the IAT sensor goes into the intake pipe and where the hose going to the FIA control Valve is. So basically, how are you guyz going about integrating these things into your IC pipe. If you have pictures that would help alot!
Thanks
Chuck
Final solution I came up with:
Solution for Hoses going into the charge pipe:
i went to lowes and bought a 3/8" X 1" long metal spacer and drilled a 3/8" hole and welded it in place.
Solution for the IAT sensor.
1.)Go to ace hardware and go to the section where they have the screws and stuff.
2.)Look for the "rubber gromet" tray, (Pull it out, get one or two with an Inside diameter of 5/16", outside diameter of 5/8", thickness of 1/4" and grove diameter of 7/16")
3.)Now you need another rubber oring of the same thickness and internal diameter (i used a DSM oring i had laying around from my injector install, it was the oring that goes over the pintel of the injector) if you dont have one you can get one at ace while your there, or just use another rubber gromet.
4.)Now drill a 1/2" hole in the charge pipe
5.)put the rubber gromet in
6.)put the other oring you bought (or rubber gromet, which ever you are using) onto the IAT sensor to space it out so that the prongs at the end of the sensor grab the rubber gromet on the charge pipe and hold the sensor in there.
7.)then push the sensor into the hole, it's tight so it maybe take some pressure. It should not leak at all, if you are unsure slap some glue around it.

It's the Fuel injection air control valve. I dont recall what exactly it does. Thanks for your help, i sat down last night with my charge pipe and my stock intake and looked at it for alittle bit and figured out what i was going to do.
Thanks alot

Re: (00BoostedD16)
I drilled a hole in my intercooler piping, put a piece of cut up vacuum tube to act as a gasket and shoved the IAT sensor through that. Don't know if it'll stay in under boost, but its damn hard to pull it out.

Hey guyz, if your looking for connecting hoses to the charge pipe, i went to lowes and bought a 3/8" X 1" long metal spacer and drilled a 3/8" hole and welded it in place. I'll let you guyz know how exactly i go about doing the IAT sensor.

I have pics, but I'm too lazy to host them on my site
Just drill a hole in your piping, and get a rubber plug from any hardware store, just make sure you can drill a hole in it for the air temp sensor. put the rubber plug in the hole you drilled in your piping and you're set. I've been running that for 2 yrs now with no leaks
