how do you make a throttlebody plate?

Default how do you make a throttlebody plate?

Can you buy them and bore the TB to spec? What spec of metal do you use? Tips?

Just thought I'd ask before atempting to do it.

Your going to want to use billet aluminum, probably 6061. It seems like a ton of work though for a SPACER. Cant you find one for your liking? If not, I guess you could buy one a lil bit smaller and then machine the center out to your liking....good luck!

use 3/8" 6061 alum and machine out the center and 4 bolt holes...

arent they normally brass? id take a look at the old one and make sure its not eliptical before you make a circular one.

Kinsler Fuel Injection also sells throttle butterflies, throttle shafts, and a whole whack of other cool stuff.

Its allot of work for one butterfly. You need to calculate the aproximate angle that the butterfly sits at when the throttle shaft adjuster screw is backed out. That is the angle that the fixture needs to be machined at that you see in the lathe. It will look as though its wobbling as it turns. You will end up with an elliptical shaped butterfly. Depending on the size I would use something in the 060-090 range as far as thickness and aluminum is fine.

i don't know if i'd use aluminum, i'd use brass or stainless. they aren't fun to fit paul, good luck!

Ha! I knew it was brass.. I was expecting someone to name off a few brass alloys that would work for something like this.

also could have been that goldy steel that Honda uses for bolts
