A few parts I made for Toyota 2000 GTs
The first ones are some replicas of the window trim corners and a straight connector piece. They were cold formed from .019" 316SS. I made a couple bucks out of mild steel and hammer formed these parts. A little sanding and some polishing and I'm pretty happy with them for my first try at making trim. These were shipped to an exotic car dealer in Florida.
The other part is a replacement coolant manifold for a local exotic car dealer. The head overhangs the block and this is bolted to the gasket surface of the head. The base is 1/2" 6061 and I formed the channel from 3003. The elbow is also 6061 and is made from sch 40 pipe, pie cut, and shaped to mimic the radius of the stock part. I pressure tested it to about 40 psi.
This is what the 2000GT looks like for those who are not familiar with it. The person who go the coolant manifold has owned and restored over 50 of these cars including 2 of the Shelby prepped ones.

I think there was only about 350 of these cars produced in the world.

How did you make the bead on the coolant manifold outlet? Pile weld up, then turn it down on a lathe before pie cutting?

There are only a few people restoring these things on a regular basis. The biggest restorer/collector in the world is the fellow local to me so he brings me parts to replicate. I don't expect to really make anthing twice but I do keep any tooling and jigs I make just in case.
Joe, you can come buy anytime. I'm about 2/3 done with the exhaust on the cobra/olds. It's got a nice race look to it and should be very easy to work on.
Yup, I just welded a fat bead around a short piece of straight and turned it on a lathe.
