Re: Everlast micro tig 185
I was reading and I think the issue is you can't limit the amps by the panel when using the pedal. So it always gives you 185 amps when using the pedal. I'm not sure about their other machines but for example on my dynasty when you put 50 amps on the panel then floor the pedal it will put out 0- 50 amps.

OK, plugged everything together was simple, went to hardware store and got me a sheet of 16 gauge to throw some beads having a hard time setting up machine, am using a orange tungsten 1/16x3 don't know if that's the right one.Using a number 6 cup.Like essex said always gives u 185amps regardless which setting your at. Don't know were to set frequency at and balance to.
which tungsten should i use for stainless and aluminum?

Re: Everlast micro tig 185
I will double check, but im almost 110% sure
One of the reasons I am pretty sure is that we were welding pop cans together with it, no way I could have done that with a scale of 0-185 on the pedal.

as well it is listed in the description
http://www.everlastgenerators.com/Po...o-3910-pd.html
"IMPORTANT PRODUCT NOTE: Foot Pedal is optional Foot pedal controls the full range of amps only (approx 5-185A DC or 20-185A AC). The foot pedal is not controlled or limited by the panel amp adjustment. 2T Torch switch function offers panel limitation of amps. This welder is not a stick welder."

Re: Everlast micro tig 185
I spoke with alex@everlast and he said the new batch of units the have you can control the amp on the panel when on foot pedal mode. Also they come with the wp17 torch which isn't as bulky as the ones the came wit before

Re: Everlast micro tig 185
Guys I am sorry for mis directing you all. I stand corrected, we just tested it with the panel amp **** all the way down, and all the way up, both with the pedal at 100% and we couldn't tell the difference between the two beads. They were both the exact same width.
It doesn't seem to be like my syncrowave, it would have left a wide bead on the high setting and a narrow bead on the low setting.
Once again sorry guys, I was just trying to help, hate when people spread misinformation haha.

Re: Everlast micro tig 185
mine u can adjust but if u set it @ 100 it goes str8 to 100. I thought it would be like a throttle body that you can do increments.
Now beads looking better need more practice. Only problem am having is that my beads look very thin and not str8 also trying to join 16 gauge pipe and seem to be blowing holes threw it will try to post some more pictures tomorrow

I really like my thremal arc 185. 3 year warranty, mig, tig and stick, no AC how ever. Built by thermadyne, the mig has a much smoother arc than my older millermatic challenger.
