Default Cutting out a header flange with a plasma cutter?

I need one quick flange and have a plasma cutter, is it possible to cut a flange with a plasma cutter or it's not recommended?

Thanks,
Daniel

EDIT: I mean actually cutting one out from a flat piece of steel.

you can definitely make a good looking flange with a plasma. hopefully your plasma puts out alot of amps.

try this. use a header gasket. trace pattern on some MDF board .use that as a template to run the plasma inside your "jig" you will get a very nice cut that way. you will have to make the JIG wider though to accomodate the distance from your plasma tip to the side of the plasma cup (which will run along the sides of your jig)

then plasma out each exhaust port, and drill in all your mounting holes with a drill press.
don't let anyone tell you it will turn out ugly. just take some extra steps to ensure you do a good job.

would I do it?? No, just order it. BUT you can. Take your time and cut it out. Use a drillpress to do the mounting holds and clean up ALLL the plasma cuts with a grinder.

you might want to get it resurfaced when done because that plasma cutter will put alot of heat into and could warp your flange, other than that have fun and hope it comes good for you
