What type of Tranny Fluid!?
I have a 660whp hatch with a S80 tranny with a quaife and was wondering what you guys run for Tranny fluid...i drive the car daily and drag it every week....usually put normal Honda tranny fluid in it, but was wondering what everyone else is running!?

Re: What type of Tranny Fluid!?
ive always used honda mtf in a stock tranny. using redline shockproof heavy in the liberty tranny now. a customer just brought in his rsx with a bad tranny, said he just switched from whatever the dealer had in it to redline synthetic and had that in there for about 10k miles. we took the tranny out and every single bearing was bad, very very rough roll.

^^^^^^
Reason I've stayed away from Redline except for Shockproof Light/Heavy.
I've had about 7-8 trannys over the years that ran Redline and had many bad bearings in them. Now the tranny could have been bad and owner thought the Redline would fix it......or could it be the fluid?????

yeah the guy was pretty pissed. i have never heard of redline synthetic problems. he is a middle aged guy, bought the car new, loyal customer as well, not the type to run the crap out of something. brings all his rigs to us. he does simple maintenance things like oil/tranny changes and stuff like that.
the car has about 60 k miles on it, put the redline synthetic tranny fluid in around 51k or so. he said tranny is making weird noise, we take it for a spin and sounds like bearings are going. drain the tranny and notice that tranny fluid does not look like oem stuff.

On a stock tranny is the Honda MTF the best way to go? Or would a Royal Purple be better? Dont mean to thread jack but I wanna know too.
