About a day ago started hearing noise from tranny/clutch area sounded like a chatter then started to squeal. Now when in neutral and letting off the clutch the car tries too move forward but stalls like its in gear. Now heres my question, with clutch pressed in it will shift to every gear but 5th. It seems as if its stuck in 5th gear. Any similar experiences? Im dropping the tranny tonight but wont be able to crack it open for another 3 days? Any input would be nice. Tranny fluid was up to par as well so im stumped.

Its a 2000 civic ex sohc, found a good deal on a used tranny picking it up tomorrow. Going to keep my current transmission and crack it open to see if there is any obvious damage. Im no expert at all but will use it to try and learn a little about it.

Likely clogged oil passage on the mainshaft, lack of oil burnt 4th and 5th up....

Awesome I'll do some research on that man,im no transmission guy so gonna use the busted tranny for a learning experience. I got it dropped now and the new one is going in tomorrow morning. Thanks for the input man its well needed.
