How to swap output direction K series
Hi guys, new to the Honda world. I would like to use a K20A motor and box in a non Honda project that has the motor mounted in the rear. Provided it fits, the problem that I will have is that it will have 5 gears going in reverse and one useless forward gear. Is there a simple way to modify the gearbox so the output to the drive shafts are in the opposite direction?
I understand using a B series box is not possible and nobody has any interest in making an adaptor for this setup when you can use a k series box with a k motor for normal applications.
Any help from the gearbox gurus would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Why would you mount the engine/transmission backwards ? If you mount it just like it is found in the front of a car, you will have five forward gears and 1 reverse gear. The only real issue then is you will have to create extra long shifter cables in order to mount the shifter and cables in their original configuration OR mount the shift box backwards and create a bracket to hold the cables from the front of the transmission instead of their original location.

Yes the front to rear won't be aligned with the hubs if the engine is in the normal orientation. Shafts will have to be customised anyway since it's not a Honda and the hubs are different, but at least this way they would line up and the only issue is adding a gear or something to the gearbox to reverse it's rotation.
