how to clean inside of transmission
so just cracked open my thing. took all the gears out. cleaned magnet. is it safe to flood the inside with wd 40 to clean in?

If you don't have a blind hole puller for the CSB, cover the CSB and oil port and hit the case with brake cleaner after wiping with a blue towel. Drain brake cleaner out and wipe down. Repeat until you can wipe the case with a towel and not pick up any dirt.

what about the top part? has no bearings, just the axle gasket. can i pressure wash the **** out of it and spray degreaser on it?

But yeah, you can use degreaser/water on any part of the case that has no bearings installed.
It doesn't hurt to clean out the bearing either- just make sure there are is no debris in the *****/races before spinning them. I like to pack them with high temp urea grease
