When to expect new rings to seat ? Low compression with new cp's.
Ok so I ran a set of JE pistons in my b18a and now i have changed to cp 9-1, the engine was completely rebuilt when the JE's ran for 10k and when i put the cp's in i only honed the walls enough to remove the rust that had built up over a month or so.
I have put around 700-800 miles on the cp's now and i am only getting a high compression number of 120.
So my question is when are these cp's going to seat?
Or are they not going to because the cylinder walls were not fully re-honed.
Thanks for any imput.

No 120 is the high the other three are in between 90 and 110.
stock cams.
I am thinking about pulling the head and rehoning it.
i think the rings could handle it.
and i need my compression.

maybe honing the block messed up your cross-hatching.. I know you need the proper cross-hatch to gain proper seat, otherwise its a 50-50. Good luck, possably drive the s#^t out of it and maybe it will seat in time...

Any body think it could be the starter ?
It sounds way weak when cranking for long periods of time, like when compression testing. I am talking 5-10 seconds as a long time. It kinda craps out I am going to put new bushings in it. And try again with a different compression tester to be sure before i rehone it.

No not the starter. They probably won't becasue the cylinder walls were not fully re-honed.
Part way prep gets part way results. I would re-hone the right way and re-ring your pistons.
