Trying to bar an eg w/itr swap
hey couldn't find anything by searching, but maybe i'm using the wrong keywords....... if anyone could send me a link on what exactly needs to be done in order for it to pass i would appreciate it. thanks happy holidays......

all emissions equipment, USDM ecu, carb# for all aftermarket parts, pass sniffer test, no check engine lights, all vacuum hoses hooked up correctly..these guys r very picky about everything

i figured that much about the emissions parts, but is it true that i'll need to swap out fuel pump/lines/tank as well from an itr chassis? i remember reading awhile back that this needed to be done. plus my car is obd1 what about the DLC connector? my eg doesnt have one....... thanks for your info bro. if anyone else has links to old archived threads on this would be much appreciated. thanks again. happy holidays....

sine ur car is obd1 and the motor is obd2 im not sure if they will go off the obd2 or obd1 system...if they go off the obd2 system then u might need to hook up a DLC and have all the obd2 emissions stuff and have all ur Readiness Codes set to Ready otherwise u fail...
try searching on HT for more info..if u cant find any i suggest just going to the ref. and see if u can pass, if not he will give u a list of all the stuff u need to do and fix b4 u can pass

Yep, you will need to set everything up to usdm 97 spec itr (early obd2). The major things you need are the underdash DLC, firewall mounted purge solenoid, and ecu. The solenoid and ecu are tough to find b/c they are specific to 97 only. I had to buy the solenoid new ($100) but I was lucky and found the correct ecu. Do NOT try and use an ecu from a 98+. It simply wont work b/c it has 1 more readiness monitor that you wont be able to satisfy.
If running a jdm b18cr: Depending on the ref, you dont need to slap on a usdm oil pump for the crank sensor. I wired mine up so it reads off the sensor inside the dizzy. it doesnt give you a check engine light and doesnt affect the readiness monitors.
