Default Spark Plugs

I just got a 1999 Civic DX and am looking to change out the plugs. I know the NGK's are the OEM plugs but which ones should I go after?

The local Honda dealer said the part was ZFR6F-11 and $3.38 a piece.

I'm looking at the local auto stores and they are calling the OEM part number as ZFR5F-11 (laser platinum at $10 a piece or ZFRFGP (straight platinum at $2.79 a piece). Clearly I'm not looking to spend $10 a plug. The single platinum from the parts store looks good to replace as this is just a work car for me.

Any recommendations? Thanks,

Check out NGK's iridium plugs. If not those, just go with OEM.

Well, I decided to go with the ZFRFGP normal platinum plugs. I usually like the coppers, but as this is a work vehicle, I don't really want to change/check them every 20k miles.

Thanks, guys.

I wonder why people bother posting when they've made up their minds already.

Considering I posted the question yesterday, got feedback and then purchased them...and then replied back with my decision today, I don't see how that means I had my mind made up prior to the original post.

It takes like 10 minutes to change them.

"I'm thinking about getting the platinum" you said. We said "skip the platinum" you said "I'm going to get the platinum because..." No one recommended the platinum plugs.

Sounds like your mind was made up to me.
