Default Is it possible to bypass IAC & Fast Idle Thermo Valve?

I am wondering if its possible to make this whole setup work. I am in the middle of fabricating a custom intake manifold and am curious of the challenge it will arise if I bypass the IAC completely along with the Fast Idle Thermo Valve. I am running with an OBD-I ECU. I understand I will obviously not get the car running high rpms on startup.

Basically both ports that feed to the throttle body via the intake manifold must be bypassed in this design. Has anyone ever done this before? If this wouldn't work, how could I appoach the situation to make it work. Could I modify the Throttle Body etc? TIA

You can disable the IAC anf FITV and still run like usual but youll have problems at cold start ups (must manually rev car to warm up with IAC disconnected. id personally leave it in)

the FITV, pretty much a lot of people in warmer cliamtes dont even bother, just bypass it.

The ECU won't be too upset?

Nope, just leave have the IAC plugged into the harness but leave it dangling somewhere so it doesnt throw IAC code

I'm almost positive most tune software (Crome, Neptune, hondata, etc.) allow you to disable iac, so no cel if unplugged. I could be wrong so double check.

You are correct, atleast with hondata, you can go into hondata and disable the iacv

What about obd2 cars, 2000 civic, and i want to remove it.

what i want to know is how the computer senses the IAC plugged in, how much resistance is present by the IAC when operating normally, andif i can bypass it by putting a inline resistor.

We have emissions and the CEL is killing me.

AND thanks to whomever brought this old **** post back from the past. i was about to do the same.
