I'm looking for a relay that activates a momentary switch for my greddy profec b spec II

basical neptune offers a low boost/ high boost switch, based on vehicle speed. But in order to use it, it requires that a on/off relay is wired in conjunction with a turboxs or turbosmart dual stage system... (off = low boost, on = high boost)

the greddy profec b uses a momentary switch to signal the change from low to high (and vice versa), but with the way neptune works with the other types of BCs... it would switch back and forth with a normal relay.....


so i'm looking for a relay that would give momentary current when activated....

The only thing I could think of that is similiar is the flash on a camera, when when current passes through it, it momentarily emits current through the bulb

No, there isnt any relay that i am aware of that will only 'kick over' momentarily. And flash bulbs are a different idea, the capacitors discharge through the flash tube which causes the flash.

what i can think of doing, is wiring a transistor to an scr, then an scr to a relay. So then you can build a circuit that will 'pulse' the transistor which will cascade to the relay which will only energize it momentarily.

All you're trying to do is replace the momentary switch used by the GReddy Profec B with a relay that can be controlled by Neptune, right?

So...find out what type of switch is used and then buy the appropriate relay. Its probably a SPDT switch, but don't quote me on that.

Is the problem more complicated than that?

the greddy switch is momentary, but the switching used on a turboxs is a SPDT type switch (two positions).

basically, neptune will feed a signal to the relay i need, then the greddy profec b would then receive a momentary signal to switch boost levels... using a normal relay on the greddy profec b would be like holding down the button (which wouldn't be good)

This thread leads me to believe that high boost is only enabled so long as you are holding the push button down. In this case, it seems the switch is nothing more than a SPST (single pole, single throw). If this is true, you need only buy a SPST relay.

i just confirmed with a a greddy profec owner who has the switching system it appears it switches with a momentary signal

with a momentary press of the button it switches the boost and will stay at that boost setting until you press the button again, I am sure of this because I run this setup in my car
