-Remove steering collar which is supported by phillips screws on the underside.
- Remove two phillips screws that hold on the ignition switch which is located on the left side of the cylinder.
- Get a hammer and a chisel, you'll see two rivets on top of your old lock cylinder. Using the hammer and chisel, tap these rivets at an angle and they'll spin off. These rivets are actually bolts, not rivets. When you torque the bolts down, the heads snap off.
-Remove old cylinder, install new one.
-Your new cylinder should have came with two strange looking bolts. Go a head and put these bolts in hand tight when placing your new cylinder into place.
-Verify your steering lock works, test fit the ollar, put the key in, and do all of your fitting to make sure everything is perfect.
-Remove the steering collar once you've got everything fitting perfect, then tighten the bolts on top of the lock cylinder. No need to follow any torque specs because one the proper torque specs are reached, the heads of the bolts will break off.
- Re-install 2 small screws that hold on ignition switch.
- Screw on steering collar.
- All done.

Re: how to remove ignition cylinder on a eg
It is possible to remove just the lock cylinder (the part your key is stuck in) and not the entire unit. No need to replace/remove the entire assembly.
Turn key to I (first click) position. Depress small pin on side of lock cylinder, pull cylinder out. Very simple.

Its not really a spring, it looks like the head of a pin. Use any skinny object (size of a toothpick I'd say) to depress it. Make sure you have the igntion turned to the first click. The pin is located on the side of the lock tumbler. Remove your steering column plastic cover to to get a better look. Google it up, Im sure there are pictures on the net somewhere.
edit: Did the search for you. See the pic thats in this link: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Steering-...DER-REPAIR.htm
