anyway, they sent me off the past two days to the regional AOAC meeting (american association of analytical chemists) and yes, it's for both microbiologists and chemists.
I got bored with the micro presentation on campy around 11 this morning and wandered across the hall to the chemistry presentation...
guess what I saw haha...
gas spec graphs of quite a few different things...
1. Charcoal lighter fluid from wal-mart $3.95 per 20oz. can.
2. STP fuel system cleaner $4.95 per bottle.
3. (brand name can't remember) Carb/fuel injector cleaner $2.95 bottle.
4. (brand name can't remember) Gas tank water remover $6.95!! a bottle!!!
5. kerosene straight from the gas station...$1.03 a gallon...
the gas spec graphs for ALL of them were identical!! hahahaha...I just about fell out my seat. I've known for a while that lighter fluid and fuel injector cleaner MUST have kerosene in it to some amount but didn't know they were STRAIGHT kerosene!!! I even waited until the end of the presentation and asked that since some of the peaks looked smaller on a few of the different graphs if there wasn't anything else mixed in....He brought them back up and said, "nope, as you can see we just got tired of wasting three sheets of paper so we squished the graphs down to one sheet before converting to the power point version"
from now on I'm going to just fill up a gallon container with kerosene and add the appropriate amount to my gas tank...hahaha no more high prices for cleaning and de-watering the gas tank in the cars...</TD></TR></TABLE>

Re: fuel injector cleaner... kerosene? (igo4bmx)
i think i will let you try this first before i do it .... maybe they use something to water it down in the injector cleaners and the kerosene is too strong and may mess somethign up.....
