Default EM1: JDM b18c swap everything done right but one CEL

I have a 00 civic si, i put a jdm type r motor in it b18c. and the swap was done very clean and everything plugged up right except the crank sensor and had to swap out the dizzy too, so it idled correctly. THe motor hits vtec, and is runnin almost near perfect except its throwing a CEL for the knock sensor. how do i know this? well i took a paper clip to my ecu and thats the code that came up.. 23. knock sensor.

I replaced the knock sensor with the one on my b16, and it looked exactly the same as the b18c nothign wrong. reset the battery, and its still throwin that code.

So then i replaced my spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor on my dizzy, and its still throwing the knock sensor code...

anyone know what is going on? im runnin a obd2b to obd2a jumper harness..

why dont you get the knock sensor eliminated from your ECU. I "hear" that there no good anyways cause by the time it works its to late ha.

It's either your wiring, crank sensors in the dizzy, or the ecu. Check them in that order.

Ignore this ^^. For that to work you need to switch to an OBD1 ecu, get a conversion harness, and rewire the IABs. People have bypassed them on OBD2 vehicles using piezo electric sensors and whatnot, but IMO for an inexpensive sensor, just replace it.

To the OP: odds are your knock sensor just cracked. It's up on the back of the block under the intake manifold. They're plastic bonded to metal.
If the motor runs and idles well, and it throws the code anyways (and it's plugged in) then it's probably the sensor itself.

It's possible that your conversion harness doesn't have it pinned for whatever reason. You might want to check the wiring diagrams on ff-squad and compare them to your harness and conversion harness.
