tight, that looks real expensive and a little more then what i need. have u seen anyone use it before? looking for something under $300 for sure. thanks for the reply.

hehehe and use my psychic honda powers to pull the data from the ecu? why didnt i think of that? 
do you know what the data logger does? its the same thing the shop uses to hook up to your diagnostic port and read all the sensors in your car like coolant temp, o2 sensor, airflow, air temp, ignition timing, etc... so u can see it is very useful.

For a turbo application, Hondata is a killer product. I do not own one myself, but I have seen two different cars run them and the tunability and datalogging is awesome. The software is lite and will run on just about anything.

whats up tampa peep. yeah from what i see it looks like a powerful product. although when i ran the software on my nt box, and ran the demo/sample they had it CHUUGGGED and the cpu was at 100% then 4% then 100% etc..but it ran REEEAAALLLY slow. Wonder why.
Basically I'm just looking for a simple datalogger that I can use to just monitor. For other car makes, likes DSMs you can get them very cheap. ALLOT of DSM peeps have them. I've searched everywhere and there doesnt seem to be a product/software that will allow this.

Hondalogger runs slowly on NT and 2000, but flies on 98. We'll have to test it on these machines some more to find out why.
If we could make this a standalone product to work with a laptop and the OBD II diagnostic port, what would people pay? 200? 300?

I think some "performance" shops and at-home do-it yourself "tuners" would find a $200-300 datalogging package usefull and helpfull.
I overheard Ben Schaeffer (my regular mechanic out in Woodbine, MD) ask someone that apparently owned the local Honda dealership (or was part of the management), about getting one of the analyzers that the dealer's shop uses.
Thing was, that it wasn't going to be cheap (don't know how much), and that the latest stuff was going to be updated by Honda every 3-6 months by FLASH (or something). Basically he was saying that you get a "unit" which then needs to get downloaded with the current info from Honda.
Wish I had something like this to help figure out that the Mugen computer was running lean the last year or so!
P.S. Talked to sgT last night about the Hondata stuff for my Turbo R project. Thanks, .. later, ed.

well a similar product used by DSMs is at http://www.pocketlogger.com and the PDA version runs $155 and the PC version is $300. So $200-300 would be in the market range. Of course since I am the consumer I say cheaper the better
I also have a odb1. How difficult would it be to make a software product that will allow connections from both odb1 and odb2? What kind of software engineers do you guys have there at Hondata?
Do you guys at Hondata sell just the cable that runs from the diagnostic port to a serial connection on a pc?
