A bad wheel bearing is typically like a gravel grinding sound coming from your wheel well. Not usually a high pitch squealing noise.

You could have some debris trapped inside the caliper, like a rock or something, or your pads could be so low that the indicator is in constant contact with the rotor.

Can you tell if it's coming from the back or front? What kind of car is it? Rear disc or drum?

bad wheel bearing is easy
at speed you hear a rythm
parked, the wheel will have play both hands at 9 and 3 o clock, rock the wheel. It will shift.

Jack the suspect wheel up and spin it, you might hear it
Sounds like metal rollers

bad bearing causes slight vibration
Sometime brakepads lose their retainers or backing clips, can cause a screech.

Oh yeah man.

OEM>Napa>carquest>Kraken/oreilly>walmart>autozone

We have contract with Napa, used to have one with Carquest too.
Napa also stocks OEM parts at times.

I like the Hawk HPS, they are pretty stout. Your Duralast probably have some type of warranty though, I would look into that.

Autozone isn't all bad either, I recently bought a IACV for a 98 D16y7 and it was a Denso in a Duralast box. Cheaper than everywhere else and same as OE on the car.

Dealer pads are not that expensive, and they last really long

Try majestichonda, com if you have time to wait for shipping
