You will need to open the gauge up, [disassemble] locate the ground for the illumination bulb, isolate it add a ground lead and run it out with the rest of the wiring and connect it the the red lead at the "Dash Lights Brightness Controller"
On my tach I used a razer blade to cut out a short piece of trace on the PC board that was the ground for the illumination bulb and soldered a lead to the bulb side of the cut trace.
The trick is to disconnect the constant ground for the bulb and supply the "adjustable" ground from the "DLBC", [red].94

Then all you can do is add a veritable resistor, [dimmer switch] to the illumination lead, [12V+ side of bulb].
How do you change the illumination bulb in the gauge if it goes bad? 94
