94 Civiv EG Hatch - Ignition Lock Buttons all Too Big??
So I've tried to replace the ignition lock cylinder (OEM) with aftermarket ones from different auto parts stores, as well as from Amazon.com - all of them hvae the spring loaded locking button on them that are sized too big to fit in the housing that the ignition lock resides in. It looks as though I'll need to grind down the pin/button with a dremel to possibly make it work, or, enlarge the housing by drilling it out with a stepped up drill bit... Anybody have this issue ever? What solutions have you all tried? I looked all over the internet but everyone seems to have installed it with ease..not sure why Amazon "Standard" brand, AutoZone and O'Reillys ALL ARE TOO BIG... Honda only sells the complete assembly for $400 which I'm obviously not going to buy.

Update: I had to drill out the lock cylinder housing with a 1/8" drill bit which is the size of the larger locking pin on all the aftermarket lock cylinders. Works perfect. I ground down the pin itself a little as well. You will need to take off the windshield wiper arm/switch in order to access the hole with the drill. Good luck just wanted to share to help somebody else out down the road...

Grumpy indeed... lol
Well lucky for you I have a slight delay when I start the car I'm guessing is worn down contacts on starter switch, so I get to take it apart all over again! So, I'll take pix this time around... much better to have pix I know...
