There are lots of threads about this, and lots of people do it. Yes it's possible, but the shocks will blow out in a very short time due to not being able to handle the lower ride height and the stiffer springs.
I say do it right the first time. Wait and save until you can get new good quality shocks. DON'T go for KYB GR-2 or Tokico HP shocks. Those are basically just stock replacements.

hey sorry for the thread jack but i was about to buy kyb agx's, but then when i read some reviews people said they couldnt tell the diff. between settings after a year, and they lost alot of their dampening. is that true?

That is very true, I've had quite a few customers with that problem. Save up and get some Koni yellows if your going to spend the money to upgrade your oem damper.
