Default Soft pedal.. never had a honda with good brakes!

So far my luck with hondas and bad brakes has been the worst.. every honda i have owned (7) all has had bad brakes.. I get in other hondas the brakes are amazing. Anyway. I have a Eg civic hatch. I am trying to get a pedal . I have air in the lines some where and seem to not be able to get it out. I have put a new booster and master on it. I have bench bleed the master 3 times (no bubbles) i have got another new one just incase it was bleeding past orings in the master still same thing. I have cross bleed the system and did farthest to nearest wheel. I have replaced the rear wheel cyl. and checked all the orings and boots on the front clipers to see if it maybe sucking air. I also cracked all the bleeders and let it gravity bleed. and i have go glasses with clear hose and put the hose in teh glass with brake fluid in them and pumped the brakes adding fluid in the res. still cant get a firm pedal. Air is trapt somewhere in the system

Anyone have any other tricks i can try?
Thanks
Russ

here is some info that was given to me by a fellow ht member
dunno if its correct, but it is worth a shot since you are having no luck..

"The proper sequence is REAR RIGHT, FRONT LEFT, REAR LEFT and FRONT RIGHT.

Our civics don't follow the farthest to closest side bleeding sequence."

good luck with your honda

it's mainly important to do a front brake, then the opposite brake on the rear, they are split diagonally,if you go side to side the air just moves back and forth

Crack the more accessable flare nut, of each circuit, in the proporting valve housing (right under the master cylinder) with bleeding procedure. The bottom circuit can be accessed from under the car. Celebration after much frustration. 96 Accord non abs.

Your soft brake pedal could be caused by mal-adjusted drums or a stuck caliper pin.

I bled my integra's brakes the past week and actually did closest to farthest.. I had someone press the pedal 10 times and held it down whenever i released and closed the valve. did it about 4-5 times on each corner and it was very nice. before i did that, i replaced my brake master cylinder and bench bled it before i installed it.

I did the ABS delete and have a prop valve. I did the furthest to closest. The brakes feel soft for a bit and then it gets stiff like there is some play. I will try the diagonal bleed and hope that helps. Thanks for the heads up.

When you changed out to non-abs did you match it up with the proper brake master cylinder and brake booster?

Once you do get all the air out and it's still soft (thats what she said), you should replace all the lines with SS lines. Once I did that the brake feel was night and day difference.

I have a ABS master cylinder with ABS brake booster. I have Good-ridge lines. I did the bleed diagonally and it made a huge difference. Next up is rear type-r caliper upgrade.
