Small Qs on sway bar on ASR install
Two questions on sway bar install on ASR (Civic EK):
The bolts of the D-brackets stand in an angle relative to the brace's surface, due to the angled subframe's ends.
So the bolts only contact the brace's surface with a small side. Charleston writes this is no problem, so I believe that, that said I find it strange this is nowhere mentioned on HT afaik. Thoughts?
OEM the D-brackets bolts have washers, ASR comes without. So use washers or not - maybe this has a relation to the previous Q.
- thanks for reading

Re: Small Qs on sway bar on ASR install
I'm willing to bet not many people have actually looked closely enough at it to tell it's not straight. With that said, I'd be willing to bet once it's tightened to spec you wont notice a issue.
I would use the brace/hardware as it came.
I'm using a 10mm bolt in a 11mm hole in my subframe and there absolutely no slop once it's tight.

Glad to see you'r still around 98civdx
Tought as much Thanks for your opinion.
Yes, I remember we 'talked' about this long ago
The reason I'm only now installing this is that the Koni Kit's springs which I was riding on till now are not strong enough to accompany the 22mm. I'v now - finally - installed Spoon Progressive Springs

Re: Small Qs on sway bar on ASR install
I'm still around, but not nearly as much. Damn growing up and having to pay bills!
I've been on that same setup, (actually upgraded to an Eibach 19mm) and changed nothing since we talked. No issues whatsoever!

I've been hearing people say this for years and it's a silly comment. The 22mm bar works fine with the stock ITR, it will be fine with pretty much any aftermarket spring you combine it with.

Re: Small Qs on sway bar on ASR install
As if any aftermarket rear spring has equal or more strenght than the 250lbs of the ITR or the 245 of the EK9
The Koni Kit's rear spring (old blue version) is much less stiff. I don't want to put undue stress on the bar/frame.
I'v seen endlinks break with a 22mill on a Koni Kit, tracking.

Kristo, sorry I didn't recall if there was washers but theres no washer "marks" on my D brackets. Fyi no washers for the 24mm ASR bar.
