Default Quick Question about my ZEAL b6 coilovers on my R!

i just installed zeal b6 coilovers with 12k/10k on my 00 R. The ride quality isnt as good as i thought. any suggestions. heres a few cliff notes on my situation. any input would be awesome

-purchased used but in good condition.
- i lowered the shock body to the max.
-front and rears are at the stiffest setting
-feels like im driving a boat, swervy feel.
-put them on my R. turned the dampning all the way to 6. just turned the dial and drove.
-whats the stiffest dampning setting ? 6?
-the damping before was set on no number. it was directly over the other screw setting.
- the springs all around are tight . all collers are locked.

i came from spoon springs/ bilstein shocks and it rode alot better/smooth. i just chose the ZEAL suspension because i wanted a lower stance.

so it's 672 in front and 560 in rear, it's a pretty stiff spring for the street to be honest.

are you sure the damper is not damage? it happens to older/used agx that the adjuster will be at full soft if you rotate it to full hard(the adjuster valve failure), it doesn't take much to damage the damper esp when riding slammed to the ground(from the previous owner)

can you describe more about boat feeling?

what happen when you hit a bump? does it start to oscillates up and down in big "wave" or do you feel the car is skipping thru the bump and lose contact to the ground?

another thing, are those zeal XS? aka the street type zeal?

the zeal xs for my honda is only a tad better than stock, something like a hundred lb more per inch with 6 ways adjustable damper.

most of the s2k people would go and pick up the "track" version zeal with 30 way adjustable with 8k all around. It's still soft as far as typical japanese coilover rate goes.

Those rates are roughly 3-4 times stiffer than stock, you set damping to the stiffest setting, slammed the car, and didn't get an alignment. Honestly, what sort of ride quality and handling did you expect?

Suggestions:
1. Understand that the ride is going to be extremely stiff with those rates. That's probably something that should have been done before you made the purchase, though.
2. Back off the damping, experiment with different settings to see if they even work or make a difference.
3. Raise the car. Lowest does not mean best when it comes to performance.
4. Get an alignment, unless you like ****-poor handling, darty highway behavior and replacing tires every 5k miles.

correct sir, especially running 12k/10k slammed, thats no where near decent ride quality. My buddy is running 12k/10k with illuminas, slammed and ride quality really sucks (socal). Handling is def. 10/10 considering his DA has no other suspension upgrades other than the coilover/shock combo. I'm running 10k/8k with agx's and ride quality is harsh enough for me, considering i'm slammed and my shocks are underdampened. All in all, running 12k/10k on any suspension setup will give you a pretty rough ride.
