Question for the Steering Rack Rebuilding DIY'ers
My rack was leaking PS fluid so I decided to rebuild it myself. Upon cleaning the rack, I noticed some wear that you can feel. I should replace this huh

Next question: The Helm Manual recommends using a piston ring sizing tool for the sleeve on the pinion shaft and other parts. Can this be improvised?

If you're referring to the 0"-4 1/2" bearing separator, that's a generic tool and can be had for $25 at Harbor Freight.
