Default Energy Suspension Bushings

What are the do an do nots of the Energy Suspension Bushings? I've got a 99SI in the process of a suspension reconstruction. Searching I've found use this and not that blah blah blah.........I was thinking of the Hyperflex kit but if there are a lot of parts not to use then perhaps the kit isn't the way to go and instead just some specific bushings to replace.........

SO, what bushings should be and should not be replaced if at all on my 99 SI.....?

-For what its worth, H&R Sports current, soon to be matched with Koni Yellows unless I find a good deal on something like GC

from what i've read, you don't want to use anything but stock or mugen rubber trailing arm bushings (spherical bushings should be ok for the trailing arm if the car won't see a lot of street use), and you don't want to use the ES inner lca bushings on the front. both can cause binding issues at the limits of suspension movement.

search in the RR/AX forum, there's a few very good technical threads on the trailing arm bushing issue, and i believe that's where i found the info on the front inner lca bushing as well...

i use the energy suspension trailing arm bushings...they work well and i dont have the proplems people say they do...everyone likes their oem stuff. for that comfort zoned ride i guess. my setup is very rigid and stiff.

Rear End Control Arm Bushing Set
Front Strut Rod Bushing Set
Front Sway Bar Frame Bushings
Rear Sway Bar Frame Bushings
Front End Links
Tie Rod Boots
Front Ball Joint Boot Set

I know this post is getting annoying, would someone please explain what some of hte specific bushings above will accomplish on my car? thanks!

why do you want to buy these bushings if you don't know what they will accomplish?

i know they stiffen the ride and overall handling performance and while i am installing my Koni's i thought i would look more into the the poly bushings while i have things apart and i'm wanting to start into autocrossing with a good working suspension and save myself from having to pay for 2 alignments...........thats why

but my question was to see which ones are really beneficial and how particular bushings affect the car over others, an example being "Front Ball Joint Boot Set" for one, the others I kinda get but never hurts to be elaborated on

I put the whole set on last year, they are great on my '99 Si. Kind of a PITA to install, you need a machine nshop to press out some of the bushing sleeves and a torch to melt out other bushings, but I'd do it again.

I just purchased the kit and motor bushings.

I'm experiencing a little bit of wheel hop, I suspect that most or all of my present bushings are original.

The kit and motor mount inserts were $113.00 shipped.

note on this topic. i have found it is a whole lot easier to install the bushings after freezing them for the night. then take them out of the freezer one at a time as needed.

as for what bushings do what, i orginally installed the sway-bar bushings, and end links first, along with front and rear strut mount bushings. on my accord wagon. those IMO where the best bang for my buck.

looking back i would only use those bushing, and go with hard rubber like MUGEN or OEM, for the rest.

i would def. recomend the MUGEN RTA bushings over the ES, POLY, ECT..., on the civic, teggy, ect.. cars, i have not found the MUGEN RTA bushings for my cb9 so i opted for the OEM RTA'S, and have no complaints.

i also am going to powder coat my LCA'S F/R , and i am going to replace the ES bushings with OEM bushings.

now keep in mind the car is a summer DD, that only sees track 1-2 a year. so this might not be the best set-up for the avid AUTO-X'ER, or TRACK car.

Oops, my kit was for a 93 Accord, sorry.

That's probably where the difference is.

This was the cheapest place, out of like 20 searched.

It was cheaper by like $20.
