EG handling
Hey guys, bought a 93 DX hatch and will be lowering with Tokico Illumina/H&R Sport springs. I want better handling but cannot go with a 22mm ITR rear sway bar since the car will be used in winter and my girl will be driving it. I've had a 22 and 23mm in the past and loved it, but its just not an option with her driving the car.
So my question is what would help handling and reduce body roll more
1. 14mm Integra GSR rear sway bar, no front bar
2. 24mm Integra GSR front, 14mm Integra GSR rear.
I know the rear only will help handling, but a front would help control body roll more, so i'm stuck as to which I should do.

Why can't a girl drive a car with a 23mm rear sway bar?

what?
who cares what she wants? It's your car. Hell, then ask her what size sway bar she wants to run...

Re: EG handling (J.MONEY)
I added GSR front & rear bars to my lowered 94 CX. They surely made the car "feel" more solid around turns. For the price, you can't go wrong either...
As far as the 22-23mm bars goes, I would be more concerned about the cost factor than the "girlfriend skills" factor. A Type-R rear bar really should have a subframe reinforcement kit to go with it. That jacks up the price by almost $200....

A 14mm rear bar might make the car a bit more neutral(not sure, never tested). Adding a 24mm front bar and 14mm rear bar will continue to make it understeer.
Try adding the 14mm rear bar first and see if it balances the car out. If it kicks the car into oversteer, remove it. There's no throttle control and that's more dangerous for your gf. I'd say throw in a 23mm rear bar with an asr kit as well as the 24mm front bar and just advise your girl to drive slowly because in the winter the car may not flip but the tires might not have traction and cause the vehicle to hydroplane.

Re: EG handling (MyEG6)
The car will roll considerably without a front bar. As far as your OEM choices go, I believe you can get a 21mm (EG civic Si), 22mm (94+ LS), 24mm (94+ GSR/ITR) & 25mm (98+ JDM ITR). If your really worried about understeer, start with a 21mm. You can always disconnect it in two seconds when your doing auto-x or track driving (remove one end-link)...

I've got a line on a GSR set up of 24mm front, 14mm rear with most hardware.
I'll have rear LCA, end-links, bushings and brackets, just need to get the front bushings/brackets and I believe I need Integra front LCA as well right?
The 24/14 set-up with H&R Sport and Illumina shocks should help alot over no sway bars and blown DX shocks/stock springs.
Car won't see auto-x

Yeah that's right. All you need are front/rear lcas and the swaybars(with brackets/bushings/endlinks)
It will help reduce body roll dramatically.

All DC Integra front LCAs will work perfectly on your car. You can also use all 92-95 Civic & any Del-Sol front LCAs from models that came with front sway-bars (so double check before ordering them)...
Yes, you will need the front bushings & brackets. Make sure to get the bushings that match the diameter of the bar. The Del-Sol VTEC also came with the 24mm front sway-bar. I tell you this because the same parts cost less at a Honda dealership than they do at an Acura dealership...

Re: (kaiba)
The 24mm front sway bar uses an end link with an "L" shape. This is because the end-link has a ball-joint where it attaches to the sway-bar. This sway-bar is used on all 94-01 GSR, 97-01 Type-R, and 94-97 Del Sol VTECs...
The 22mm & 21mm front sway bar uses an "I" shaped end-link. There are not ball-joints, and the link simply passes straight through both the LCA & sway-bar. The 22mm bar comes on all LS & RS model 94-01 Integras and probably some del-sols. The 21mm sway-bar is on all civics with front bars...
The 25mm 99-00 Civic Si front sway-bar uses a Z shaped end-link. This is because both ends of this end-link have ball-joints on them. This end-link is only supposed to be used with the special stamped steel UCA that only the 99-00 Si comes with. This LCA shouldn't be used on an EG/DC chassis though because it causes negative caster (from what I've heard). I have heard it's possible to use the "L" shaped end-link with the 99-00 Si 25mm sway-bar on an EG/DC, but I've never actually seen it done...

Re: EG handling (E-Money)
I have a GSR 24mm front, Progress 24mm adjustable on the rear set to medium softish. No need for subframe reinforcement with the Progress. I let my girlfriend drive my car all day long. It doesn't oversteer and it's very predictable at the cornering limits of the tires.
I have aftermarket shocks that bias the rear more than stock as well.
No front sway is pretty retarded for anything except a dedicated track car or your mom's car.

Re: EG handling
Ended up going with 24mm front, 22mm rear with an ASR brace. I know I said I wasn't going for a large rear, but after feeling the difference the front made, I missed my old large rear sway too much.
She'll just have to drive slow in the winter to avoid oversteer

Re: EG handling (Chillinit)
I just bought the ASR brace last night so haven't mounted the 22mm yet, but just with a front sway bar, made a huge difference. Turn-in and body roll are alot better, the front feels stiffer too.
I'm used to a 23mm rear, 24mm front from my old Acura 1.6EL and it was very neutral except lift throttle oversteer. It was the best upgrade I ever did to that car, so i'm expecting the same from the lighter EG
