Default looking 4 d17 importers in so.cal

So i bought a used civic with a so called blown head gasket for a reasonable price. Today was the first day i got it running. The work i did was resurfaced, hot tank, and pressure tested the head. Got all new gaskets, and running a metal head gasket. No biggie, anyhow i got everything running. Throwing a check engine light, which at the time i didnt have the obd2 reader, which i will use tomorrow morning.

Idle is sounding like it's misfiring which could be from a bad coil, as when I removed them on the rebuild 2 of them where stuck into the head... Got'em out and moved on... So i think this could be the rough idle.. I'll know tomorrow... But sounds like the bottom end may have some rod knockage!

anyhow enough with my rant, and rage! any engine importers in SO.CAL that carries the d17's?

Im sorry to heard that dem0nk1d, all the money and hard work wasted because of a lie.. but it is pretty common to have a bad rod bearing when you have a blown headgasket... if i was you. I would take the oil pan and see if the rod bearing is not too bad and replace it... Now why not show us your car.. post some pics!!!!

dude, you must have gotten the come down price from some crack head at 800 bucks, that's EPIC. I paid 2600, invested money into a top end gasket set, a machine work to the head.

I think so far the bill is
spark plugs, oil, filter - 40
gasket set topend - 54
all new inner door handles and passenger side windshield molding - 80 oem brand new from majestic
55 bucks for the hot tank, pressure testing, and milling of the head

and i think that's it for now, i have to get two new coils as when i pulled the head apart they were stuck in the head. took some force to get it out. it was so odd..

Oh and i had to order a few other parts from honda to. 4 Retainers, 1 keeper, and the rear side cam cover from Honda. The one that was on the engine got melted some how it was pretty awesome, never saw anything in my life working on all the honda's i've worked on in my life.
so another 60 bucks..

Total 289.00 in parts. Now i'll be tacking another 60.00 per coil. GRRRR
So in total about

here is what the crap looked like from the carpet.
