Re: Carolina Cars Thread!
What about using the AC bracket off the motor in my EF now? Can it be used with the Z6 compressor?
Finished gettting all new parts on this morning. Buttoned everything up to see how it would look. NOT HAPPY w/ the DIY wrinkle valvecover and how the tranny bolts -> block look. I may buy those new and replace. Also, I may buy a z6 powdercoated wrinkle black valve cover for $85 to replace what I have. I am just not a fan of how it turned out.
I also sold my Fat Fives this weekend along with my VIS hood and trunk
Once I replace sold wheels on 4dr and get trunk back from body shop I will be ready to put the hatch under the knife.

I'll give it a shot when I get ready to swap. Just curious but what's wrong with the torque arm on the z6 bracket? Too high up on the block?
Also, I will reuse ALL mounts in the hatch for the swap, correct? No surprises I will run into there, correct?

Yea, the arm hits the frame. I had that problem when I was modding a b series one to use my d series compressor. As far as I know, all d series are the same and mounts bolt to the same locations. You shouldn't need anything additional for it...honestly, I kinda like the valve cover. I wouldnt say the end result is bad enough to go buy an $85 valve cover. That's almost the price of a minty itr vc. Just repaint this one with a plain, high gloss black paint. This is just a daily driver...although I understand the need to make it look good. I've been slowly replacing **** in my beater to make it nicer and less ricer...too bad it's eaten up with rust, or I'd really be sinking money into it. LOL

I said almost...isnt the going rate about $100? I haven't looked into those in years. ITR crap isn't worth it for aesthetic reasons, IMO.

Yeah, they are through the roof. I understand what you mean about the expense of a "new" VC. That is one my my debates with keeping this one. I placed it in the oven like it says to but it still didnt wrinkle evenly. Looks cheap to me. Either way its cleaner than it was and clean over all. I feel it will serve its purpose for a DD I guess....
So switch the z6 ac bracket for my d series bracket in the hatch now and I will be good?

K cool. Since I am going to save on the VC, I want to clean up the ugly stock fuel line on the hatch. Tell me if you see something wrong with this list of parts:
5/16 -> -6 female hard line tubing adapter:
TO
35 micron -6 filter:
TO
-6 hose end:
TO
-6 Pro-Lite hose (left over from 4dr fuel line)
TO
-6 Banjo hose end w/ 12x1.25 bolt (assuming OEM Dseries fuel rail is 12x1.25)

I'd put the filter up by the fuel rail so when you have to change it it's easier to get to. Not sure how the feed line is angled on ef's but may want a 45 off of it angled towards the tb with a 45 on that end too.

I was considering the same thing jimmy. The price for what I posted and what is pictured is a difference of ~$7. I am going to run it like this (except w/ hard line tubing adapter instead of tube nut etc):

I like that Travis. My only gripe is it looks like the fuel line may be a little short, not allowing for engine movement. I'm not a fan of cutting and flaring lines either. Makes me nervous as hell.

Re: Carolina Cars Thread!
I would have some slack in there. I know in some places it may look dumb ie my catch can but I prefer to have slack to account for movement or if I ever were to have something happen and I need to redo a premade line

Re: Carolina Cars Thread!
This weekend would be awesome. Justus has talked me into swapping the hatch over the weekend. I had some plugs but that fell through as I have had to work the past couple of weekends and havent been able to go pick them up.
When can I snag them from you?
