safety restraint system i think it has somethin to do with your seat belt and your airbags deploying because they wont deploy if your seat belt isnt on

what if your seatbelts are on, and the light is still on?
Does it mean that the airbags don't work? or have been deployed before?

ya if the light stays on that means there is an error in the system and they are not going to fire in the event of a crash, go to a honda dealership and see what they can do to fix it up quick, safety is priority number one here, no need to get ur self phucked up for not reason

SRS = Supplimental Restraint System.
it is there to add extra protection in certain situations. if the SRS light is on it means that your SRS computer has found a fault in the system, which means most likely your airbags will not deploy. make sure you actually have the airbags connected right (theres a short connector that may be hooked up or they just aren't) and get the computer reset.

Anyone know how to reset it? I installed the non-SRS Type R steering wheel in my car and the light just stays on.

might wanna check and see if the car was in a accident in the past because that could trigger the SRS light. there are 3 sensors on the front end. 2 of 3 need to be activated b4 the air bags can go off. my old car had 1 sensor tripped and the light was on.
Just pull the fuse. Pull the light bulb out of the cluster will shut the light off

i know this might not apply to you, but i was recently in a car accident (a pretty bad one) and my airbags did not deploy. my SRS light did not stay on but came on when i started the motor. i dont know what was up with that.
im thinking that a chipped ecu doesnt recognize the airbags and does not deploy them. thats my only thought. my point is though, if the SRS light is on or off, your airbags still might not deploy.

It is SUPPOSED to come on when you start the car tough guy. If it STAYS on, then you have a problem. And airbags are not 100%. I have read of MANY accidents where the bags didnt deploy. There is some sort of sensor "somewhere" one the that triggers the airbags going off

like has been said before, there are three sensors in the front of the car. Everything is routed through a seperate computer from the main ECU that just controls the SRS system. It is in over the center tunnel below the heater box next to the firewall...at least on the EG. All the wiring in the car for SRS is marked by yellow plastic covering the wires.

oh really? the srs light is supposed to come on? damn i didnt know that...tough guy
i was implying that the only time it should be on is when you start your motor, not that it should stay on.
