97 accord ex and 94 lx wiring questions
Ok guys long time since I've been on here but I got a 94 lx with f22b2 5speed I picked up a 97 ex with f22b1 that has automatic that's trashed and no title but any way the 94 has set for awhile and the mice has gotten ahold of the main harness inside behind the dash engine harness is fine.
I've removed the harness from the 97 goin to switch it to 94 I'm thinking I can just buy the conversion harness for ecu from obd2 to obd1 and it should work is there anything else that I might need to plan for I was goin to put the f22b1 in the 94 but it needs rebuilt i guess bottom question will the f22b2 run on the 97 harness with the ecu conversion harness?
Thanks in advance

if you're moving the entire 97 harness to the 94 and gonna use the b1 engine, then you shouldn't have to do anything, just move over the ecu too and it'll be plug and play

I'm just moving harness to the 94 the f22b2 is healthier than the b1 I just didn't know if I would run into and issues running the obd2 harness on a obd1 motor and ecu other than the ecu conversion harness thanks for the reply

And another question I have is if I do this how do you pull the codes on this harness when hooked to a obd 1 ecu

Re: 97 accord ex and 94 lx wiring questions
if it were me i would convert it to obd2 with a 96-97 oil pump and crank sensor assembly and a 96-97 ecu
you will just need to use the paperclip method
you will just need to use the paperclip method

That OBD2 harness is going to take some work. Personally I would(and have) hit the junkyard for a OBD1 engine harness.
Is the dash harness ok?

Re: 97 accord ex and 94 lx wiring questions
ahh ok. Yea, it was either unclear or I am illiterate. Either way is fair. haha
I was actually wondering about that as well. My under Dash harness is crap in my accord and I was thinking about going completely OBD2 inside and out. If I had gotten my parts car I was trying to get that's the path I would have taken. I don't think many people modify the under dash harness. Once they get in that deep they generally go full race car and just do relays and a switch panel. I would have to assume that the fuse box mounts and such would be the same. I the fuse box may be different but if you have everything then that side shouldn't be a problem.
You still may have issues with the wiring for the crank sensor and I would guess O2 Sensor. I know the O2 sensor wiring is quirky.
How bad is the damage? It may be easier just to repair it, I would personally like to see if you are successful but I know from experience that once you start messing with the wiring you may go down a rabbit hole you were not expecting. I must have spent $200 and a huge amount of time and effort on my custom engine harness and in the end I stripped that car down and am just now rebuilding and using a stock engine harness.
I learned a lot but didn't make any progress on the car at the time.

Re: 97 accord ex and 94 lx wiring questions
Yes the dad harness was a pain to get out but got the dash harness repaired on the 94 I think lol but I'm goin to run the f22b2 for awhile I'm goin to rebuild the b1 and boost it and drop it in the 94 it's not my daily so not really a rush on it anyway I'm goin to covert it all to obd2 after I get the motor built and get the rest of the car fixed up
