how much do light weight rims help?
I am considering Rota 12 lbs rims. I was wandering how much they will help vs my stock 2000 GSR rims (about 16 lbs)? I know if I was to get 17" rims that would weigh 3-4 lbs more than my stockers, they would noticeably decrease the performance of the car. Would similar results be accoplish my decreasing the weight 3-4 lbs?
Anyone with light rims please help me!!
I might get Volk TE37's if I can save more money. Those only weigh 9 lbs each!!

I drive an Hx, which comes with 11 pound aluminum alloy rims stock...I then drove around for a while with Si rims.(which weigh in at around 19 pounds. I did notice a difference, but not a huge one.

Here, Ill make it easy for you
I went from my stock GSR wheels to the 12lb 15" Rotas, and it really wasnt anything noticeable. The steering was a bit lighter, but its not like I felt a helluva lot quicker or anything. Maybe if you went from 22lb 17's youd notice it, but not really from stock.

i think i remember seeing dynos of 15" vs 17" and the numbers might shock people (with 17s who drag). haven't seen the other way around dyno'd but i believe lighter wheels also can improve braking. going light might be hard to feel with your butt-dyno and you wanna make sure you don't get something so light that it's easily damagable i.e. won't stand up to day to day pothole punishment.
