Default Seized rear caliper

Took my 95 Accord to Midas for a rear brake job they said one of the rear calipers is seized. I have not noticed any symptoms other than a brake pedal that varies in firmness, if that can even be considered a symptom. The girl at Midas said sometimes there are no symptoms. Total for everything (not just the caliper) is $564 including tax and labor, more than I wanted to spend.

Is that BS, are they trying to get extra money out of me, or is it likely that the caliper was seized and just didn't show any signs?

Ask them to show you the pads. A seized caliper will have excessive wear compared to the other side. Otherwise theyre just bsing.

Also that price is excessive. It shouldnt be more than two hours work @ $100 per hour = $200 ...the caliper is maybe $125 tops

I already gave them the go ahead, didn't want to wait any longer, I already waited too long to get the rear brakes done. Any longer would have been a risk.
