My Street to Drag CRX Build
I pulled the trigger a little while ago and decided to rebuild my CRX. Got bored today and decided to finally post the build on here. I have owned this car for 12 years now and it was my first car. I hope to have this car at the track here in the next few months and my goals are around 700hp and 9's at the track.
Previous set up- 430 hp 370tq, Ran 11.1 @ 132 mph.
-Motor- B16a2 AEBS 84mm Sleeves, "O" Ringed Block, Ross 9:1 pistons, Crower rods, ACL Race Bearings, CTR Intake Cam, Stock B16 Exhaust Cam, Port Flow Springs/Retainers, Golden Eagle Head Studs/Main Studs, Crower Rod Bolts.
-Turbo/Intake- SLS Ramhorn Manifold, Greddy 18g Turbo Converted to External WG, Tial 38mm Wastegate, 3" v-band downpipe, Precision 600hp intercooler, Blitz BOV, Skunk2 Intake Manifold, BDL 70mm TB.
-Fuel- ID 1000's, Walbro Intank Pump, 100 Octane, -6 Lines in bay, Hondata S300.
-Trans/Suspension- JDM B16 Cable Trans, ACT 6 puck unsprung, Stock Axels, Innovative Mounts Traction Bar, Tein HA Full Coilovers, Skunk2 Front Camber Kit, ES Bushings, full roll cage, 24.5" Slicks, Rear Skinnies.
Some Pics of Previous Set-up
New Set-Up for 2014
-Same Motor/Internals, New ATI Race Damper, New Hasport 94a Mounts.
- Turbo/Intake- SLS Ramhorn Manifold w/New 44mm Vband flange, Tial 44mm MVR Wastegate, Speed Trapp Consulting "The Shodan" Built GTX35r Journal Bearing Turbo (GTX3582r Compressor Wheel 62mm, GT3076r Compressor Cover), 4" hood exit exhaust, Precision 750hp w/custom backdoor inlet, 3" aluminum cold piping, Tial Q BOV, VictorX Intake Manifold, Hondata 4 port Boost Solenoid.
-Fuel/Ignition- ID 1000's, Walbro Intank, Xenocron Dual Bosch 044 Surge Tank w/-8 feed, Hondata S300,Hondata CPR.
-Trans/Suspension- GSR Hydro Trans, MFactory LSD and Trans Cuff, Syncrotech Carbon Synchros, Torco RTF Fluid, Competition Clutch Twin Disk Clutch, Thinking of getting Insane Axels 1000hp, Hush Performance EF Hydro Clutch Conversion w/reverse mount pull slave, Progress Technology CS-2 Coilovers w/450ff and 800rr springs, Full-Race Traction Bar.
-Here are some pics of my build progress.
Started Tear Down, lots of rust and bad body work from previous owner.
Some pics of the roll cage
Did a brake line tuck for more room in the known cramped ef bay, Cunifer Brake line was used
Paint Didn't turn out too bad for garage single stage job
Started Getting Some Parts In
I highly recommend the Speedfactory Radiator for the EF bay, Very nice part.
If your going to go Hydro in an EF I highly recommend the Hush Performance Conversion.
Went with Tunerview RD-1 for Dash Display
GTX35R Turbo from "TheShodan"
Heart back in
Everything for Fabrication came in
Fuel System Done
Everything Back from Welder/fabricator, did a quick mock up of everything for fittment
Cut hole in hood for exhaust, still have to make cover plate.
This is as far as I am as of right now. I will be picking up a bunch of parts from Cali this weekend so stay tuned for updates. Thanks for reading my build thread!

Re: My Street to Drag CRX Build
Thanks for all the comments so far!
Thank you. RD1 is really cool to me. Ive only played with it a little and haven't ran the car with it yet but I'm sure its gonna be nice. I still have to do the fuel level conversions, hopefully it won't be too hard but I'm sure that will be fun haha.
thanks man. Ill see you at the track soon hopefully!
Make your dreams come true! haha, thanks. The paint is actually just single stage gray but turned out to be a pretty cool color, sometimes it looks gray, sometimes blue and sometimes white depending on the lighting.

ill be running the Full-Race traction bar. Yea I've read where some people have problems and others don't. Nothing fits easy in this chassis.

Re: My Street to Drag CRX Build
Went to Los Angeles this weekend and picked up some parts I had ordered. Got my Hondata CPR, Torco RTF, BWR k-coil plate, BWR 4" Bellmouth, and Hardrace Rear Lower Control Arms.
I also stopped by Insane Shafts since I was in the area to get some 1000hp axels, but they were probably already gone for one of the events going on this weekend. Also talked to Progress Suspension for drag coil overs and am now on their pre-order list for their Mid-June release of their new dampening adjustable coil overs with 450ff and 800rr springs.

Re: My Street to Drag CRX Build
Haven't updated in a while and have been really busy with my RV parking project on the side of my house, trips and life in general but I was able to get some things done in between all that.
Heres my side yard project I have been doing that has taken up a lot of my time.
Finished product
Decided to trade in my old truck buy a new tow rig a few weeks ago also haha
Hood Exit Done
Got all the hot parts Black Ceramic Coated, Came out really well to me
Hot parts bolted up and new Hondata CPR Kit on
Heres how it sits now with pretty much all the big things bolted up
Just need to order Brad Penn oil, coolant, spark plugs and do a few little things here and there and the motor should be ready to fire up. Also waiting on Progress Suspension to release their new coil over set up that is updated with more adjustability like dampening and will probably go with 450ff and 800rr springs. Thanks for looking!

Re: My Street to Drag CRX Build
Thanks!
I will post results of the ATI Damper fitment. This is really one of my biggest "worries" I have right now with the build and can't wait to get my suspension so I can see what happens. I was thinking of doing a custom radius arm on that side but the more I think about it, if it doesn't fit then I will probably sell the race version and get the street one. I'm sure it will be better than a stock pulley still, but I want to rev higher than I was last time at 9400rpm.
